WPL: Delhi Capitals beat UP Warriorz by 5 wickets to reach Eliminator

Delhi Capitals followed up a clinical bowling display with a nervy, error-strewn chase to secure a 5-wicket win over UP Warriorz and book a place in the Eliminator at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. After restricting Warriorz to a modest 122, Capitals appeared in control during a solid opening stand between Shafali Verma (29 off 33) and Laura Wolvaardt (47 off 36).The pair added 73 runs off 64 balls to lay a stable platform, but the chase unravelled soon after. A dramatic middle-order collapse saw Capitals lose four wickets in quick succession, turning a straightforward pursuit into a tense finish. With 23 required off the final four overs, skipper Jemimah Rodrigues held her nerve. She remained unbeaten on 34 off 18 balls to guide Capitals home in the penultimate over. Capitals will now face Gujarat Giants in Tuesday’s Eliminator, with the winner earning a spot in Thursday’s final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
